All about dAN

I was born a poor minority child....I had to do magic tricks for pennies so I could save up enough to buy my very own G.I. Joe.

Unfortunately, I had no magic stuff, or a lovely assistant, so I didn't make a whole lot of cash. But I never gave up. It took me nearly 20 years, but when I had enough saved, the store no longer carried G.I. Joes. They had Ken (Barbie's weenie boyfriend), but it just wasn't the same. Besides, I was 20, and too old to be csaught playing with dolls. So I bought a used Hondo bass instead, and the rest is history. Well, not exactly 'history' in the sense that what I wrote has any historical significance, relevance, or even any historical truth other than the part about the Hondo and the fact that I once was a kid.

But, enough about that. Now I play big time gigs where there are more audience members than there are band members; I use gear that I couldn't afford before I got a day job; and I sound better than the crappy musicians I am contractually forced to work with.

Big name guys I've worked with:

Well, I've not worked with too many big-time acts. In fact, I haven't worked with ANY big timers. But, I have worked with a lot of insignificant bands that you have never heard of, even if you're a Tampa Bay native like I am. Clear Frontier, Simple Faith, Crosseyed, Cockpit, Joshua Judges Ruth, Sensory Detail, Altered Ego, Turning Point, Screaming Bunnies; all these bands had me laying down the groove for them.

I have also played for several Bay area churches: Northwest Community, Seminole Heights Baptist, Journey, Crosstown Community, Joyful Servants, Westview, and Forest Hills UMC. You get to play with a lot of cats when you work as cheaply as I do.

You can read more about my musical exploits on the Simple Faith website. Just go to the Favorite Links page to find it!
